Aon Ltd., the London arm of United States-based global broking group, Aon Corp., has employed a reinsurance manager in its Moscow Office and says it plans to open a number of new offices throughout the Central and Eastern European region over the next 15 months.

Alexey Polyakov, joined the broker from Transsiberian Re at the beginning of this month.

"The move is part of a continued strong expansion drive by Aon to develop and grow its business in the Central and Eastern European region," said the company.

"The appointment of Alexey Polyakov in the Moscow Office will bring us closer to the local market, allowing us to better service the needs of our clients in Russia and to grow our existing portfolio of business in the Russian market," said Richard Drummond Murray, chairman of Aon Re in the region.

"It also marks the next phase of our drive to expand our business in the increasingly important Central and Eastern European region. This expansion will involve the establishment of further regional offices during the course of this year and next," he added.
