Scor's nine month profits up

PARIS—French reinsurer SCOR S.A. posted net income of €155 million for the first nine months of 2006, up 87% compared with the first three quarters of last year.

The company said its gross written premiums for the first nine months of the year increased 18% to €2.09 billion, and said this growth was the result of a 27.4% rise in treaty business, a 28.3% increase in large corporate accounts business, and 28.3% growth in nonlife reinsurance, among other things.SCOR said its combined ratio for nonlife reinsurance business was 97.1% for the first three-quarters of 2006, compared with 106% for the same period last year.
