BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

New Bermuda premier sworn in

Reprints

HAMILTON, Bermuda--Dr. Ewart F. Brown was sworn in Monday as Bermuda's new premier.

Dr. Brown last week defeated the incumbent, W. Alexander Scott--who had served as premier since July 2003--in a 107-76 vote at the Progressive Labor Party's delegates conference.

Dr. Brown, who also serves as Bermuda's minister of tourism and transport, most recently served as deputy premier of Bermuda under Mr. Scott.

Under Bermuda's parliamentary government structure, the premier is the head of government responsible for nominating the cabinet and is also considered the leader of the majority party or majority coalition in the house of assembly.
