JLT wins London Olympic contract

LONDON—The Olympic Delivery Authority for the 2012 Olympic Games to be held in London has announced the appointment of JLT Risk Solutions Ltd. as insurance broker for the venues and infrastructure associated with the event.

The ODA said JLT had won the contract to act as insurance broker for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and for the conversion of venues after the games.JLT Risk Solutions, a unit of London-based Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group P.L.C., in March announced the launch of an expanded sports and entertainment practice.

"JLT is delighted to have secured this prestigious appointment which underlines our leading position in the construction and sports insurance markets," said Dominic Burke, chief executive of JLT, in a statement.
