BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Employee to sue BA for religious discrimination

LONDON—An employee of British Airways P.L.C. says she intends to sue the airline for asking her to conceal a crucifix necklace.

Nadia Eweida, a Christian who works for BA at Heathrow Airport in London, said she was forced to take leave after refusing to conceal a necklace bearing a crucifix, and says she will take legal action against her employer on the grounds of religious discrimination.

BA said that the matter was under investigation, but that its uniform policy does allow staff to wear jewellery, including religious symbols, so long as it is concealed.

Under the United Kingdom's Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003, it is illegal to discriminate against someone on the grounds of their religious belief.
