Saskatchewan proposes stable comp rate for 2007

REGINA, Saskatchewan--The Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board has proposed that the average employer premium rate for workers comp insurance remain at its current level for 2007.

The average premium rate for 2006 is $1.84 Canadian per $100 Canadian ($1.62 per $88.05) of insurable earnings.

Employers have the opportunity to discuss and potentially challenge the preliminary rates being proposed by the WCB, but changes to proposed rates are rare, a spokeswoman said.

Final rates will likely be released in late November, she said.
