Cooper Gay names new CEO for Lloyd's unit

LONDON—London-based insurance and reinsurance broker Cooper Gay (Holdings) Ltd., has named James Summers as chief executive officer of its Lloyd's of London broking unit, Cooper Gay & Co Ltd.

Previously, Mr. Summers worked at director level at several London brokers including Blanch Crawley Warren, Heath Lambert Group and Bowring. He joined Cooper Gay in 2002 as managing director of the marine and aviation unit.

Toby Esser, CEO of Cooper Gay, said: that Mr. Summers will be instrumental in driving the business forward. "Cooper Gay has set aggressive future growth and development targets and under James' leadership, I am positive that we will attain our strategic goals," he added.

Steve Barton, currently Deputy Managing Director, Marine & Aviation Division, has been appointed Managing Director.
