PARIS--London-based insurer Beazley Group P.L.C. has opened an office in Paris, its first in France.

The opening of its Paris office reflects the company's goal to service its growing number of French clients, Beazley said in a statement.

Beazley will initially write professional indemnity and financial guarantee for insurance brokers and financial intermediaries, and expects to expand its product range shortly, the company said in its statement. Its team of three underwriters in Paris will be lead by Charlotte Lamidon, previously of Zurich Financial Services and at underwriting agency Anglo French Underwriters.

Johnny Rowell, head of specialty lines, said: "The decision to open our doors for business in Paris emphasizes our commitment to fully support the needs of our local clients, as well as providing them with convenient access to our worldwide network of underwriters."
