Forum to explore captive strategies and trends

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--The 16th annual World Captive Forum will explore cutting-edge risk financing trends, advanced captive strategies and best practices for forming and operating a new facility.

The captive forum is scheduled for Nov. 13-15 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz. It will feature several sessions with captive and industry experts discussing topics such as reinsurance and fronting, employee benefits financing and regulations.

The program is organized around three tracks: basic, advanced and benefit-related captive insurance issues. It also provides opportunities for networking, including a golf tournament beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 13. An opening reception follows at 6 p.m.

On Nov. 14, Robert P. Hartwig, senior vp, chief economist and incoming president of the Insurance Information Institute, will deliver the opening address reviewing insurance trends and statistics, including information on major developments in the captive industry.

A keynote panel on Nov. 14 will discuss "The Role of Benefits Financing in the 21st Century as seen by Benefits and Finance Executives." Keynote Panel speakers include Christopher DeMeo, senior strategist, asset liability for Russell Investment Group, and Bill Fitzpatrick, vp-risk benefits, corporate insurance and risk management for Deutsche Post World Net.

Several sessions for each forum track will be offered Nov. 14 and 15. The topics will include a look at new trends in cell structures, case studies, tax and investments, the shrinking insurance market and much more.

Full registration is $1,075 for risk managers and benefit managers and $1,450 for others. Subsequent registrations from the same company are $1,075. The fee for captive regulators is $595.

There is a $225 fee for participating in the golf tournament.
