Benfield acquires Norwegian broker

OSLO, Norway—Benfield Corporate Risk, the corporate insurance arm of London-based Benfield Group Ltd., has acquired Oslo, Norway-based Parisco AS and its subsidiary Parisco Marine AS.

Established in 2001, Parisco is an insurance broker serving the Scandinavian offshore energy, oilfield services and marine industries.

John Lapsley, chief executive of Benfield Corporate Risk said: "Acquiring Parisco AS provides us with an excellent opportunity to expand Benfield Corporate Risk's corporate insurance broking services to customers and prospects in the specialized Scandinavian marine and energy market, and wider Nordic region."

Benfield Corporate Risk, which specializes in marine, energy and aviation insurance, operates out of London, Paris, Houston, New York, Washington, Singapore, Bermuda, Seoul, Perth, Calgary and Baku.
