BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

NORTHBROOK, Ill.--Thomas J. Wilson will succeed Edward M. Liddy as Allstate Corp.'s chief executive officer on Jan. 1, 2007, the insurer's board announced Monday.

Mr. Wilson is currently the Northbrook, Ill.-based personal lines insurer's president and chief operating officer. He will remain Allstate's president in addition to becoming chief executive officer, but the role of chief operating officer "will not be filled," Allstate said in a statement announcing the succession plan.

The statement also said that Mr. Liddy will retain his position as Allstate's chairman until the spring of 2008.
