Stuart Sinclair has been named president and chief operating officer of Hamilton, Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. Mr. Sinclair most recently served as president and chief executive officer of GE Financial Services-Greater China. Mr. Sinclair, who will be based in London, succeeds

Sarah Davies, who left the COO position earlier this year to become Aspen's director of research and development and business change.

Hamilton, Bermuda-based XL Capital Ltd. has named

Michael C. Lobdell chief executive-global business services. In his new position, Mr. Lobdell will be a member of the "office of the chief executive officer," which the company put in place in July. Mr. Lobdell joined XL from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., where he was a managing director.

Hewitt Associates Inc. has named

Russell P. Fradin chairman and CEO. Mr. Fradin joins Lincolnshire, Ill.-based Hewitt from The BISYS Group Inc. where he was president and CEO. Mr. Fradin succeeds Dale Gifford, who is retiring.

R. Scott Donovan has been named executive vp and chief financial officer of Stamford, Conn.-based Odyssey Re Holdings Corp. Mr. Donovan previously served as president and COO of Odyssey Re's TIG Insurance Group affiliate. He succeeds Robert Giammarco, who resigned in August.

Mike Foley has joined Schaumburg, Ill.-based Zurich North America Commercial as COO. Mr. Foley comes to the Zurich Financial Services Group Inc. unit from McKinsey & Co., where he was leader of the consultant's North American Property & Casualty insurance practice. He succeeds Frank Patalano, who is retiring.

Pembroke, Bermuda-based Glencoe Group Holdings Ltd., the holding company for the individual risk business of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd., has named

Travis Lewis COO. Mr. Lewis most recently was CEO of Atlanta-based Technology Vendor Management Inc. He takes over the COO responsibilities from William Ashley, who remains the company's president and CEO.

The Word & Brown Cos. has appointed

Clinton Gee as CFO. Mr. Gee joins Orange, Calif.-based Word & Brown from Nationwide Health Plans, where he held various executive positions including controller.

Peter A. Appel has been named chairman and CEO of Hamilton, Bermuda-based startup reinsurance company Aeolus Ltd. and

David A. Eklund will serve as chairman of the company's Aeolus Re property catastrophe reinsurance unit. Mr. Appel previously was president and CEO of Arch Capital Group Ltd., one of the investors in the new reinsurer, while Mr. Eklund previously served as president and chief underwriting officer of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. In addition,

Bert Golinski, who most recently was managing director and head of Bermuda operations for intermediary Guy Carpenter & Co., will serve as president of Aeolus Re.

Hamilton, Bermuda-based Scottish Re Group Ltd. has named

Clifford R. Wagner CEO of the company's North American business, succeeding Seth Vance, who resigned. Previously, Mr. Wagner was executive vp and chief actuary.

Philippe Donnet has been named AXA Advisors L.L.C.'s group regional CEO for Japan and Asia-Pacific. Mr. Donnet, who will take the post Oct. 1, is currently chairman of the AXA Japan Holding subsidiary of Paris-based AXA S.A. In addition, the company has appointed

Andrew Penn CEO of AXA Asia Pacific Holdings. Mr. Penn, currently CEO of AXA Asia Pacific Holdings' Australia and New Zealand unit, will take his new post Oct. 1, replacing Les Owen, who is retiring.

ULLICO Inc. has named

Mark Singleton president and CEO. Mr. Singleton, who was previously the Washington-based insurance and investment services company's CFO, had been acting as head of day-to-day operations since May.

Dan Epstein has been named CEO of ReSource Pro L.L.C., a New York-based remote staffing firm that specializes in back office insurance processing for program managers, managing general agents and retail agents. Mr. Epstein, who previously was ReSource Pro's vp of business development, takes over the CEO position from

David Watkins, who has become chairman of ReSource Pro.

Robert P. Hartwig has been named to take over as president of the Insurance Information Institute in New York following the retirement of Gordon Stewart at the end of the year. Mr. Hartwig currently serves as senior vp and chief economist at the institute.

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group in Warren, N.J., has named

Gary R. Garcia president and COO. Previously, he was executive vp, business and personal insurance, at Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Group P.L.C.

Tampa, Fla.-based PMSI-Tmesys, a specialty managed care company serving the workers compensation and managed catastrophic care markets, has named

Mark Agustin CFO and vp of finance. Previously, he was COO and CFO for Zavata Inc.

Atlanta-based Beecher Carlson has named Michael Suter as senior vp to manage the California Medical Group Insurance Co., Risk Retention Group in Los Angeles. Before joining Beecher Carlson, he was a vp in Aon Corp.'s national health care practice.

William Gallagher Associates has added Bradway G. Widing to its Boston office as senior vp in the property/casualty group. Previously, he was an account executive with Willis Group Holdings Ltd.

Chicago-based Aon Corp. has named Carlos A. Oliveras as a managing director of its U.S. mergers and acquisitions group. Before joining Aon, he was president and chief executive officer of CAO Advisors.

Waterbury, Conn.-based Webster Insurance, a subsidiary of Webster Financial Corp., has appointed Peter B. Matthews senior vp and business finance officer. Previously, he was a financial officer with CIGNA Corp.

Praetorian Financial Group has named Jason G. Holmes as senior vp and property practice leader in New York. Before joining Praetorian, he was a senior vp at GEP II, an affiliate of Global Excess Partners, where he was responsible for underwriting all lines of property business.

Schaumburg, Ill.-based Zurich North America has promoted John LaGrassa to senior vp and director of ceded reinsurance for North America. Previously, he was vp of reinsurance.

New York-based American International Group Inc. has named Anastasia D. Kelly executive vp, general counsel and senior regulatory and compliance officer. Most recently, she was executive vp and general counsel of MCI/WorldCom.

ACE Ltd. has named Lori Samson chief administration officer for Bermuda-based operations. She assumes the administrative responsibilities of Keith White, executive officer of the Bermuda companies, who will retire at the end of the year. Previously, she was executive services director.

Joseph Morrello has joined Beazley Group P.L.C.'s U.S. mid-market commercial property team as eastern region underwriting manager in Farmington, Conn. He joined Beazley from FM Global/Affiliated FM Insurance Co., where he held the role of operations vp.

Cooper Gay Intermediaries L.L.C., the U.S. treaty reinsurance broking arm of Cooper Gay (Holdings) Ltd., has named Michael S. Joyce as executive vp in the Minneapolis office. He joins the company from John B. Collins Associates, where he was a director.

Wil Gaitan has been named Buck Consultants' regional manager for Latin America. He will continue to lead New York-based Buck Consultants' global consulting practice in the Midwest region, and will remain in the Chicago office.
