PRINCETON, N.J.American Re-Insurance Co. has changed its name to Munich Reinsurance America Inc.
Company officials said the move is a logical step in the integration of Princeton, N.J.-based American Re into the Munich Re Group. The move underscores Munich Re's commitment to the U.S. market and its American Re-now Munich Re America-subsidiary, Nikolaus von Bomhard, Munich Re's chairman, said in a statement.
Munich Re America expects to benefit from the global branding of its German-based parent company.
Along with the American Re name change, the name of its holding company, America Re Corp., has been changed to Munich Re America Corp.
