Oxygen Re debuts as new reinsurance intermediary

MONTE CARLO, Monaco—London-based Oxygen Holdings P.L.C. has launched a reinsurance broker, Oxygen Re.

The broker will serve buyers of nonmarine, marine and aviation treaty reinsurance and retrocessional covers, and also will introduce third-party capital in various forms to support underwriting, the company said in a statement.

Nigel Barton, chief executive officer of Oxygen Holdings, said the unit was being launched because Oxygen believed a "seismic shift" was taking place in the reinsurance sector.
