Meet the team


Business Insurance Europe will uphold the same exacting standards of journalism with which regular readers of Business Insurance will already be familiar. In order to serve the European risk management industry with the highest quality news and information in print and online, BIE has assembled a team of experienced business journalists and production staff in key European cities. Meet the team:

Adrian Ladbury is the editor of Business Insurance Europe. He has been a journalist for 17 years after studying Modern History at the University of London, and has covered the risk and insurance markets for the last 15 years. He has worked as a journalist on many leading international risk and insurance publications and been a publisher of a portfolio of financial risk, banking and technology publications, books and newsletters. Adrian joined Business Insurance in London in 1993, leaving in 1995 to join Lloyd's List as part of the launch team for Insurance Day newspaper. He returned to the Crain Group this summer to take up the challenge of leading BIE, and is delighted to be back with Crain and in the corporate risk market.

Stuart Collins joined Business Insurance Europe in the summer as deputy editor. After studying History at Greenwich University, Stuart joined risk management consultant and publisher Jim Bannister in 1996, where he learnt about the London insurance market and risk management from one of the market's most controversial experts and characters. In 1999, Stuart moved to Insurance Day where he worked in a number of roles including features, news and managing editor.

Sarah Veysey is news editor at Business Insurance Europe. Sarah graduated from Loughborough University, England, in 1997 having studied Modern European Studies. She started her career in journalism as a reporter with reinsurance trade magazine Reactions, until moving in 1998 to work at Financial Times Finance. Sarah joined Business Insurance in 2000 and was made London bureau chief in January 2003.

Michael Bradford is Business Insurance Europe's senior reporter based in Zurich, Switzerland. He has more than 20 years of reporting experience. Having joined Business Insurance in the magazine's New York office in 1984, he opened BI's Dallas bureau in December 1985. After a short career detour when Michael opened his own independent book shop in Dallas, he rejoined the BI staff in 1995. He opened BI's New Orleans bureau in 1998 and, until joining BIE, was a senior editor based in New Orleans for BI.

Richard Miller is Business Insurance Europe's senior reporter based in Vienna, Austria. He moved to Vienna a year ago from Chicago, where he was a reporter for five years for Crain newspaper, InvestmentNews. Previously, Richard served as a business editor and reporter for several daily newspapers in the U.S. He also spent two years in Rio de Janeiro as a freelance South American correspondent for radio and print media, including The Boston Globe. He is a native of New York City and a 1986 graduate of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Carolyn Aldred is Business Insurance Europe's senior U.K. correspondent. She graduated with honors from Imperial College, London University, in 1984 with a BA in Mechanical Engineering. Carolyn has worked as news reporter for Packaging Week in 1985 and senior reporter for Post Magazine & Insurance Monitorin 1986. She joined Business Insurance as an associate editor in the London bureau in 1986 and began freelancing in 1991.

Alan Booth is BIE's art editor and has more than 12 years' experience in publishing, including seven years at The Wall Street Journal Europe and a spell at The Sunday Times. BIE's sub editor Michael Davis previously worked as a sub editor for U.S. and U.K. publishing firm Incisive Media and FT Business. Production manager, Parvinder Singh, joined BIE from academic publishing group Taylor & Francis (Books), where he served as head of the design & print division.

Nick White, associate publisher/advertising director of Business Insurance Europe, joins from sister publication Automotive News Europe. Martin J. Ross III, publisher of Business Insurance and of Business Insurance Europe. Paul Winston, associate publisher and editorial director of Business Insurance in Chicago serves as editorial director of BIE.
