CANADIAN RIMS DRAWS 529

CALGARY, Alberta -- The Canadian Risk & Insurance Management Society's annual conference drew 529 people.

Registrants traveled to Calgary from all over Canada, as well as from the United States, the United Kingdom, Bermuda, Barbados and Latin America.

The conference, held October 4-7, had the theme "New Frontiers: Explore, Chart & Conquer." It was chaired by Brad Silver, risk manager for NOVA Corp. in Calgary.

At the conference, Bill McGannon, the retired risk manager of NOVA, was awarded the Donald M. Stuart award for outstanding contributions to risk management in Canada.

The next conference will be held in St. John's, Newfoundland, Sept. 19-22, 1999.
