MERCER CONSULTANTS SPEAK AT GLOBAL HR CONFERENCE

Posted On: Oct. 4, 1998 12:00 AM CST

The 1998 Mercer Global HR Conference was held at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers Sept. 22-25.

Its two plenary and approximately three dozen smaller sessions featured Mercer consultants and practitioners, usually from large multinationals, as speakers. Topics ranged from global benefits trends, international benefits design and country- or region-specific benefits case studies to HR issues arising from European Union law, global pay and stock plans and human resources strategies for globally expanding companies. Updates on current best practices and legislative and regulatory developments in different regions, as well as special-interest luncheon roundtables, also were available.

Some sessions were geared specifically toward executives who have been newly assigned to international benefits and compensation responsibilities. A gala dinner and "On the Town" entertainment options rounded out the program.

The conference has been held biennially since 1986.
