The Houston Marine Insurance Seminar drew about 1,020 attendees to the 33rd gathering of insurers, brokers, risk managers and others interested in the state of the marine market.

Held Sept. 20-22 at the Westin Galleria Hotel, the seminar featured speakers who discussed the London and U.S. insurance markets, Year 2000 computer problems that could plague the marine industry, risk management for maritime companies and other topics.

The annual seminar is sponsored by Marine Insurance Seminars Inc., a non-profit organization that uses proceeds from the conference to fund scholarships and encourage the study of maritime issues.

After last year's conference, the group donated about $100,000 to universities and other organizations.

The 1999 seminar will be held Sept. 19-21 at the Westin Galleria.

Additional information is available from seminar Chairman John S. Parsley, Aon Natural Resources Worldwide, 2000 Bering Drive, Suite 900, Houston, Texas 77057; 713-430-6000.
