BI PROMOTES TWO ON EDITORIAL STAFF

CHICAGO -- Business Insurance has made several changes among editorial management.

Effective July 27, Regis J. Coccia is managing editor and Todd J. Behme is assistant managing editor.

Messrs. Behme and Coccia each assume duties formerly managed by Roseanne C. White, who is now reporting on risk and insurance issues on a part-time basis as a senior editor in the Washington bureau.

In her previous role as managing editor, Ms. White, 40, managed editorial staff, helped set editorial policy and also was the magazine's chief news editor. Ms. White joined Business Insurance in December 1991 in Chicago as a copy editor. She was promoted to assistant managing editor-news in July 1994 and promoted to managing editor in July 1996. She moved to BI's Washington bureau in 1995.

Before joining BI, Ms. White was editor of FLASH, a magazine for creative professionals in advertising and graphic design. She also was editor of Heavy-Duty Distribution, a magazine covering the truck parts and service market, and Midwest editor of Business Travel News, a newspaper for corporate travel managers. And, she was media relations manager for Midway Airlines in Chicago.

Ms. White holds a master of science degree in in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in Evanston, Ill., and a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Northwestern.

Mr. Coccia, 30, based in Chicago, will manage the editorial staff, help set editorial policy and continue to oversee the magazine's day-to-day operations, including copy editing. He has served as assistant managing editor since July 1996, and previously was a copy editor.

Previously, he managed BI's Agent/Broker Topics and Insurer Topics demographic sections. He joined BI in February 1993.

Mr. Coccia had been assistant city editor at The Jasper, Ind., Herald. He interned at The South Bend, Ind., Tribune while earning a bachelor's degree in American studies at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind.

As assistant managing editor, Mr. Behme, 30, will become the magazine's chief news editor. He previously was a copy editor and managed the Insurer Topics section after joining BI in July 1996.

Before joining BI, Mr. Behme was an account executive with The Reynolds Communications Group, a public relations firm in Evanston, Ill. Prior to that, he served as a reporter and as a copy editor for the Rockford Register Star in Rockford, Ill., from 1992 to 1995. In addition, Mr. Behme was a reporter for the St. Cloud Times in St. Cloud, Minn., from 1990 to 1992.

He received a bachelor of science degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
