ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Jeffrey M. Yates and Paul A. Equale have been named to the newly created positions of chief executive officers of the Independent Insurance Agents of America Inc.
Mr. Yates' responsibilities comprise industry affairs, state relations, technical affairs, education, legal issues and the Best Practices program. Mr. Equale will be responsible for administration of IIAA's other activities and programs, including government affairs, communications, information technology, administration and the for-profit unit.
Robert A. Rusbuldt was named executive vp and will oversee government affairs and other operations.
HRH in Florida
GLEN ALLEN, Va. -- Hilb, Rogal & Hamilton Co. is reconfiguring its Florida agency network, including selling its Fort Lauderdale office for an undisclosed amount of cash, in an effort to improve its growth and profitability in the state.
HRH is organizing its five Florida locations into two profit centers. Certain lines of business, including select commercial lines, will be handled by more efficient operating units, and resources will be deployed to focus on middle-market business, HRH said in a statement.
HRH also is planning to upgrade and streamline management information systems and interoffice communications in Florida.
"The new office configuration is designed to improve customer service, allowing us to serve existing and new clients effectively, while enhancing the region's profitability," Andrew L. Rogal, president and chief executive officer, said in the statement, adding that the company also is looking to pursue acquisitions in Florida.
