AVENTURA, Fla. -- The Seventh Annual World Captive and Alternative Risk Financing Forum drew about 325 attendees Nov. 16-19 to the Turnberry Isle Resort & Club in Aventura, Fla.

The truly international gathering drew representatives from 14 countries, of whom about 20% were risk managers or captive sponsors, 20% represented insurance companies, 11% brokers, 10% consultants, 7% captive managers, 7% regulators and the remainder coming from other related businesses.

Conference sessions examined such topics as domicile selection, tax and regulatory issues, Latin American captive developments, reinsurance, rent-a-captives, group health care, multiyear/multiline programs, fronting and workers compensation, the future of alternative risk, and fraud.
