BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

BI COMP CONFERENCE ATTRACTS 350

Reprints

SANTA MONICA, Calif.-Sixteen sessions, including eight concurrent ones, kept a record 350 persons engaged during Business Insurance's Fifth Annual Workers Compensation Conference last week.

However, attendees also experienced the beauty of sand, sea and balmy skies during a pre-event golf outing and two outdoor lunches during the two-day conference at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif.

The conference, presented in conjunction with International Business Forum, analyzed significant issues, including integrated disability management, ergonomics, returning injured employees to work, outcomes measurement, alternative risk financing, screening workers and developing joint labor/management teams.

The format, which included individual speakers and panel discussions, also allowed many attendees to get answers to their specific questions.

Plans are being made to hold next year's conference in the same area Oct. 26-28, though details have not been finalized.

For more information, call International Business Forum in Rockville Centre, N.Y., at 516-594-3000.
