NAIB MEETING DRAWS 200 TO PHOENIX

Posted On: May. 25, 1997 12:00 AM CST

PHOENIX-Nearly 200 insurance professionals attended the National Assn. of Insurance Brokers' annual conference held in Phoenix May 18-21.

While the 100-degree weather halted the annual tennis tournament, it did not stop attendees from playing golf on The Phoenician's championship golf courses.

Between rounds, conference-goers attended sessions on commercial insurance deregulation, the impact of change on the way people lead and communicate, reinsurers' interest in the alternative market and ethics in an intensely competitive time.

W. Rob White-Cooper, chief executive officer of Sedgwick Group P.L.C., gave the broker keynote address. Graham S. Anderson, a director of Acordia/Pettit-Morry Co. and outgoing NAIB chairman, passed the leadership torch to Jane Hill Fleming, senior vp of Sedgwick Inc. Ms. Hill Fleming is the first woman to chair the NAIB.

Next year's conference will be May 31-June 2, 1998, in Colorado Springs, Colo. For information, call the NAIB at 202-628-6700.
