A Jan. 20 brief incorrectly stated that a federal judge had dismissed racketeering charges in a case involving a defunct insurer. The judge in San Diego has refused to dismiss racketeering charges filed by a proposed class of First Assurance & Casualty Co. policyholders against Samuel B. Love, Marvin Lewis and others allegedly responsible for the company's collapse (BI, Jan. 6). The judge dismissed similar racketeering claims filed by First Assurance's bankruptcy trustee.
