NEW YORK SURCHARGE APPROVAL AVAILABLE ONLINE

ALBANY, N.Y.-With the aid of modern technology, employers can find out if their applications to the New York Department of Health to pay hospital bill care surcharges directly to a state health care pool administrator have been approved by state officials.

The state is listing approved applications on its World Wide Web site at http://www. health.state.ny.us. So far, the state has received more than 20,000 applications from employers and other organizations to make direct payments to the pool administrator, and about 9,500 applications have been approved and are listed on the Web site.

Some applications still have not been reviewed, while many others contained mistakes, which state officials are trying to work out with employers.
