Cat bond, ILS issuance in first quarter exceed 10-year average

According to the Artemis Deal Directory, catastrophe bond and related insurance-linked securities issuance have reached almost $2.5 billion in the first quarter, Artemis reported. There are still five new cat bond issues worth $750 million of risk capital slated for the first quarter and, if placed, they could take the overall issuance for the period to $3.25 billion.
