ILS and cat bond activity to accelerate in Asia: Fitch

U.S.-based credit rating agency Fitch Ratings Inc. said that insurance-linked securities and catastrophe bond activity is expected to gradually accelerate in Asia, provided investor interest in the ILS asset class remains strong, Artemis reports. "Fitch believes momentum in ILS issuances in Asia would further expand reinsurers' capacity and diversify their source of capital at a relatively low cost."
