Insurance mergers and acquisitions total $42 billion: Willis

A report by U.K.-based insurance broker Willis Towers Watson P.L.C. and research firm Mergermarket Ltd. found that the overall value of global insurance mergers and acquisitions grew to €37 billion ($42 billion) in the first six months, Reuters reported. The report found that 84 insurance deals occurred in the first half with 14 transactions worth more than €500 million each. Political and economic uncertainty related to Brexit and trade tensions between China and the United Sates could hamper global deal-making, the report added.
