A report by the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority found that a lack of historical claims data and underwriting expertise has hampered the cyber insurance market's growth in Europe, JDSupra.com reported. The report found that Europe accounted for only 8% of the global cyber insurance market despite a demand for cyber risk-related products. European insurers cited a rapidly changing regulatory landscape and the systemic threat of a catastrophic cyber events as additional challenges, the report said.
