Emerging markets claims likely to affect QBE's insurance profit margin

Australia-based QBE Insurance Group Ltd. said that higher-than-expected claims from its emerging markets division would likely reduce its insurance profit margin, Skynews.com.au reported citing Australian Associated Press. The insurer said that increased frequency of medium-sized risk claims in Asia, along with weather-related claims and the impact of legacy portfolios in Latin America could affect its profit margin.
