Zurich Insurance Co. Ltd. is likely to name Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.'s head Mario Greco as its CEO, reported Bloomberg citing Swiss newspaper SonntagsZeitung.
The newspaper said that Mr. Greco's name is the only name on the final shortlist.
Mr. Greco had earlier served as the chief of Zurich's general insurance unit from 2010 to 2012.
He was also the CEO of Zurich's life business between 2008 and 2010.
An official said that negotiations are continuing to renew Mr. Greco's contract at Generali for a second term.
