The demand for terrorism insurance coverage is expected to increase in India following the recent Paris terror attacks, The Hindu BusinessLine reported.
A rise in rates is also expected.
"We expect to see a rise in the number of individuals and firms opting for insurance covers for terrorism, war and political violence due to heightened awareness after these incidents," said an official at General Insurance Corp. of India.
A JLT Independent Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. official expects smaller establishments, such as restaurants and malls to take property insurance policies that cover terrorism.
