BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Sedgwick CEO Dave North to receive CLM Lifetime Achievement Award

The Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, Business Insurance’s sister organization, will award Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. President and CEO Dave North its 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award at the CLM Annual Conference in Houston on March 14.

The award recognizes a long-time industry professional who has made a “lasting impact on the industry,” CLM said Wednesday in a statement.

Mr. North has been in the risk management and claims services industry for more than 39 years and has led the claims manager from a regional third-party claims administrator to the “premier global provider of innovative business solutions” for the workers compensation, disability, absence management, property loss adjusting and other sectors, according to the statement.

Sedgwick has more than 15,000 employees in 275 offices in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Ireland, according to the statement.

“In his more than two decades leading Sedgwick, Dave has transformed and grown the company to the international leader it is today,” Adam Potter, New York-based CEO of CLM, said in the statement. “He introduced a customer-focused approach to managing claims and fostered a creative environment where innovative solutions to clients’ challenges were created. I am pleased to recognize him with this well-deserved honor.”
