BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Canadian employers unprepared for marijuana effects on workplace: Study

Seventy-one percent of Canadian employers are not prepared for how legalization of marijuana may affect the workplace, according to the Toronto-based Human Resources Professionals Association.

The survey of 680 human resources professionals conducted in January also found 48% of them citing safety in the workplace as a top concern when it comes to marijuana use and workers.

Another challenge is testing, according to the survey report, released Monday.

“The issue of drug testing in Canadian workplaces can be controversial, but nonetheless employers maintain a variety of rights to test for impairment. According to the HRPA survey, 9.8% of respondent organizations perform some type of drug testing on their employees. Of those respondents, 75.8% believe the legalization of recreational marijuana will have either a great or moderate impact on their drug testing policy,” according to the report.
