BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Louisiana comp insurer acquires risk management firm

Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based LCTA Workers’ Comp said Tuesday that it has acquired Risk Management Resources.

LCTA, which converted to a casualty insurance company in 2016, declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal. The company provides workers comp insurance for a variety of industries, including health care, supermarkets, restaurants, artisan contractors and municipalities.

Baton Rouge-based Risk Management Resources has been rebranded as LCTA Risk Services Inc. Risk Management Resources has 36 employees that will join the company, according to an LCTA spokesman.

LCTA expanded its workers comp business into Mississippi and Arkansas last year and said it continues to look for opportunities to expand into areas that will allow it to provide coverage to more Louisiana-based companies that also have locations in those states.
