BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Texas ups annual comp payroll requirement for seasonal workers

Reprints

The Texas Division of Workers Compensation has increased the gross annual payroll requirement for coverage of seasonal workers.

The annual payroll requirement of an employer for the coverage of seasonal workers has increased to $54,783 from $54,359. This is a 0.8% increase based on the inflation rate calculated by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, the Texas Department of Insurance said Oct. 20 in a statement.

The gross payroll amount will be used in 2017 to apply against an agricultural employer's 2016 gross payroll, and to determine whether a farm or ranch worker is covered by workers comp, according to the notice.
