Hub makes construction, transportation buy

Hub International Ltd. on Friday said it has acquired the assets of Western Assurance Corp.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Western Assurance specializes in the nonprofit sector and the construction and transportation industries. The deal strengthens capabilities in Hub’s specialty practices, the broker’s statement said.
Western Assurance president Chris Williams and its employees will join Hub Southwest.
Headquartered in Chicago, Hub International Ltd. is the seventh-largest broker of U.S. business, according to the latest Business Insurance rankings.
