BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Known for ranking homeowners insurers to colleges and universities, and even mattresses and washing machines, U.S. News and World Report is tackling a “relatively new form of insurance” and a “not as well understood market” with its latest list: Best Pet Insurance Companies of 2021.

While the list is dominated by smaller, lesser-known insurance names, some larger players are treating pet owners to their products and services.

Taking the No. 1 spot is Healthy Paws, in partnership with the global insurance broker Aon PLC and underwritten by Chubb Group. Other big names on the list include the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals insurance product, ranked at No. 5 and administered by Crum & Forster Holdings Corp.

Placing at No. 7 is Petplan, which is underwritten by XL Specialty Insurance Co. and AGCS Marine Insurance Co.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co., which the magazine says was the first insurer in the U.S. to offer pet insurance, was ranked No. 10.
