Hilb buys South Carolina surety agency

Acquisitive brokerage The Hilb Group LLC has acquired McCartha, Cobb & Associates Inc., a Columbia, South Carolina-based surety agency.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Wayne McCartha, Ray Cobb and Kathryn McCartha-Powers will join Hilb’s Southeast regional office in Columbia, Hilb said in a statement Thursday.
Hilb is the 26th largest brokerage of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s most recent ranking.
