BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

9. Marsh recruits AIG sharing economy leader

Marsh LLC and American International Group Inc. have traded some high-profile executives over the past several years and executive moves between the broker and the insurer continued in 2019.

The move that attracted the most interest among Business Insurance readers was Marsh’s recruitment in March of AIG’s Robert Bauer to head its growing U.S sharing economy and mobility practice. The story about the move was the ninth most read risk management story on BusinessInsurance.com over the past year.

Prior to joining Marsh, Mr. Bauer had been general insurance head of innovation at AIG and headed its sharing economy group.

But it was by no means one-way traffic between the two commercial insurance sector giants.

Among other moves, in June AIG announced that it had recruited Christopher Schaper, formerly CEO of Marsh LLC’s managing general agent businesses, to head its assumed reinsurance operations.

And in September, longtime Marsh property brokerage executive Duncan Ellis joined AIG as head of retail property, North America general insurance.
