BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Growing brokerage recruits another former JLT exec

CAC Specialty, the newly formed financial services division of brokerage Cobbs Allen, named former JLT Specialty USA executive Colin Daly as co-leader of its financial lines practice.

The appointment is one of several senior staff announcements the Birmingham, Alabama-based brokerage has made over the past several weeks.

Mr. Daly will help develop CAC Specialty’s directors and officers liability, cyber liability, errors and omissions insurance, employment practices liability, fidelity, fiduciary and kidnap, ransom and extortion product lines, Cobbs Allen said in a statement Monday.

He will co-lead the practice with Darren Sonderman, who joined Cobbs Allen from McGriff, Seibels & Williams Inc. in July.

Mr. Daly joined JLT USA – which was bought by Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. earlier this year – in 2016 as an executive vice president and was one of dozens of former Aon PLC brokers who joined the firm.

Last week, Cobbs Allen recruited another former JLT Specialty broker Jennifer Schaeffer – who also previously worked for Aon – as a senior vice president for CAC Specialty.

Cobbs Allen is the 91st largest broker of U.S. business with about $33 million in brokerage revenue, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
