Guy Carpenter announces executive changes

Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC announced several executive appointments to international leadership positions following parent company Marsh & McLennan Cos.’s completed acquisition of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group PLC.

Kevin Fisher has been appointed as chairman of London North America, in addition to his previously announced role as chairman of U.K. and global specialties, and will continue reporting to Peter Hearn, president and CEO of Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance brokerage said in a statement on Wednesday.

Vicky Carter, currently chairman of global strategic advisory, has been appointed chairman of global capital solutions, international and will continue reporting to Mr. Hearn, according to the statement.

James Boyce will continue as CEO of global specialties, reporting to Mr. Hearn, while Bradley Maltese has been appointed vice chairman of global specialties, reporting to Mr. Boyce.

Each global specialties segment will have a leader reporting to Mr. Boyce, according to the statement.

Marine and energy will continue to be led by Jim Summers, with a senior leadership team comprised of Graham Devlin, Nick Jay and Martin Stephenson.

Aviation and aerospace will continue to be led by Ian Wrigglesworth, with a senior leadership team comprised of Graham Barden, Paul Smith, Barry Stiff and Martin Stoney.

Non-marine specialties will continue to be led by Richard Morgan, with a senior leadership team comprised of Bill Bennett, Richard Carver, Paul Esterbrook, Stephen Firmin, Roland Morse, Simon Sharpe and Dean Smith.

Trade credit and political risk will be co-led by David Edwards, who will focus on the production and servicing of international clients, and Ashley De Laroque, who will focus on the production and servicing of London market clients.

James Nash will continue in his role as CEO of international, reporting to Mr. Hearn, while several business leaders will report to Mr. Nash.

A newly combined unit that brings together the global casualty and U.K. property/casualty teams will be co-led by Carolyn Morley, leading the global casualty business, and Ian Kerton, leading the London and South Africa markets. Jonathan Fahie has been appointed chief operating officer for this unit, according to the statement.

Charles Whitmore will continue in his role as head of the placement solutions group while Shaun Scade will continue in his role as head of accident and health.

Massimo Reina will continue in his role as CEO of continental Europe and Middle East while Tony Gallagher will continue in his role as CEO of Asia Pacific. Jeremy Fox has moved into his previously announced role as chairman of Asia Pacific.

Aidan Pope, CEO of Latin America and Caribbean, plans to retire from Guy Carpenter after a transition period, according to the statement. A Latin America and Caribbean senior leadership group has also been created and tasked with the integration of JLT Re clients and colleagues, the production of new business and the servicing of existing clients. In the interim, the group will report to Mr. Nash and be composed of Roberto Cauldron, Pedro Farme, Erik Lakatos and Anthony Mirabal.

Ross Howard, vice chairman of Guy Carpenter, plans to retire later this year, according to the statement.
