Zurich appoints head of programs

Zurich North America has named Greg Massey as head of programs, the company said in a statement Thursday.
Mr. Massey, who assumed the role March 1, is responsible for managing and driving the overall success of Zurich North America’s programs business including diversified programs, catastrophe/excess & surplus, segmented programs, construction programs, program sales and new programs.
He succeeds David Putz, who became head of alternative markets for Zurich at the start of 2018.
Mr. Massey, who will be based in Jersey City, New Jersey, reports to Mr. Putz and was most recently head of Zurich’s property and casualty line of business for North America.
“Our ability to fill the head programs position with someone from within our Zurich family is something to celebrate,” Mr. Putz said in the statement. “Greg has held a number of key leadership roles across Zurich and brings more than 35 years of experience to his new role.”
The leadership changes come as the company welcomed Kathleen Savio, former head of alternative markets, as the new CEO of Zurich North America on Jan. 1, 2018, the statement said.
