BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.
To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.
To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.
Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. saw some substantial changes in 2017, following Mario Greco’s return as CEO in the prior year, including a reorganized North American commercial business and several senior executive comings and goings.
The insurer in July named Sierra Signorelli from American International Group Inc. as chief underwriting officer for commercial insurance. The article about Ms. Signorelli’s appointment was the second most read article on Business Insurance’s website in 2017.
Then in September, it announced that that Alison Martin from Swiss Re Ltd. would join Zurich as chief risk officer.
Later that same month Zurich added Peter Huber as CEO of Zurich International to lead Zurich’s overall international business, succeeding Clive Baker.
The company’s U.S and Canadian commercial and large corporate insurance business operation saw a reorganization and its own share of executive changes.
In January, Zurich North America said it would rebrand the business and combine the former commercial markets and global corporate businesses in North America into North America Commercial Insurance, aligned into four business segments — property, casualty, construction and middle markets — with Paul Horgan as its head.
In September, the company announced a leadership change at Zurich North America with Mike Foley retiring at the end of the year and Kathleen Savio, then president of Zurich’s alternative markets unit, taking the helm.
The company then in November named David Putz to succeed Ms. Savio at alternative markets.
