Liberty Mutual Holding Co. Inc. named Jessica Dekermanji senior vice president and chief underwriting officer of its National Insurance Specialty Energy unit on Wednesday.
Ms. Dekermanji will lead the energy insurance unit and will report to David Perez, executive vice president and general manager of Liberty Mutual’s Commercial Insurance Specialty Unit.
The unit offers property coverage, workers compensation, auto liability, general liability, and – through the recently acquired Ironshore Inc. – specialty products, Ms. Dekermanji said in a statement. In addition, the unit has recently expanded to include mining after focusing on power and utilities, oil and gas, and renewable energy for over 20 years.
Ms. Dekermanji joined Liberty Mutual in 2002 and was most recently senior underwriting manager in its specialty operations.
A Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. unit has prevailed in a coverage dispute with Admiral Insurance Co., with an appeals court upholding a lower court ruling that its insurance policy obligates it to provide only excess, not primary, coverage for the litigation costs of additional insureds.
