BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Advisen Ltd. founder Thomas P. Ruggieri will join Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford Ltd. as president and CEO of its North American operations on Oct. 10, the wholesale broker said Monday.

Mr. Ruggieri, who will be based in New York and report to Toby Esser, CEO of the CGSC group, will succeed Shaun Hooper, who had been serving as president and CEO of CGSC North America. Mr. Hooper will return to CGSC’s headquarters in London as group chief commercial officer, the company said in a statement.

Mr. Ruggieri founded insurance analytics provider Advisen in 2001, serving as its chairman and CEO, after beginning his career at Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc.

In addition to wholesale broker Swett & Crawford, CGSC’s North America operations include reinsurance intermediary Cooper Gay Re and a number of specialty managing general agencies, including energy specialist J.H. Blades, Blades Marine and recently formed health care MGA Pro-Praxis, the company said in a statement.
