BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Hazy details on pot festival in pot-free state

Plans for an event called the Cannabis Festival Mississippi, planned for April 23 in Biloxi, Mississippi, have raised some eyebrows on the conservative coast, reported Nola.com.

That’s because, as the article points out, pot remains illegal in the state of Mississippi.

It’s a point even organizers admit; one promoter and owner of a boutique CBD shop told the newspaper of the common reaction, “You can’t have a marijuana festival in Mississippi — that’s illegal!”

The catch, according to the article: there won’t be any consumption of illegal substances there, although you’ll still have to be 21 or older to attend. And among the speakers will be state legislators and advocates for marijuana legalization.

An organizer described the festival as an educational opportunity for the merely “canna-curious,” featuring sessions on cultivation and uses of cannabis — from medical uses to cooking with it. The event follows Mississippi’s recent legalization of medical marijuana, a law that goes into effect later this year.
