BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

New Orleans

The same declaration used in lawsuits on constitutional rights and loss of livelihood was expressed by two past presidents of the nonprofit board that controls the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, who sued after losing perks they enjoyed previously at the music festival.

Plaintiffs Michael Bagneris and Demetric Mercadel told an Orleans Parish Civil District Court judge in their testimony in court Wednesday that they would suffer “irreparable harm” if forced to attend the 2022 festival without the extensive privileges and perks they enjoyed for years, according to Nola.com.

Such benefits have included 70 free tickets, free parking, special wristbands to access a private lounge area and other VIP access, the news outlet reported.

The judge agreed and ordered the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation Inc. to restore thousands of dollars’ worth of benefits that it eliminated after the 2019 Jazz Fest, according to the outlet.
