Generali to buy majority stake in Indian nonlife, life insurance JVs

Italian insurer Assicurazioni Generali SpA has agreed to buy a majority stake in its nonlife and life insurance joint ventures in India, Verdict reported. Generali will buy an additional 25% stake in Future Generali India Insurance Co. Ltd. for around €145m ($162 million), raising its ownership to about 74%. Generali will also increase its stake to almost 71% in Future Generali India Life Insurance Co. Ltd.
