Following a failed measure introduced in the last legislative season, Idaho lawmakers are again considering a bill that would make vaccine injuries compensable in workers compensation.
H.B. 464, introduced Wednesday, states that “when an employer requires an employee to receive a vaccination in the course of employment or as a condition of hiring or continued employment, any accident or injury caused by such vaccination shall be compensable.”
The new bill follows H.B. 417, which passed the House 67-3 in November 2021 and was sent to the Senate, where it lingered in committee.
The measure would go into effect immediately if signed by the governor.
The Idaho Senate unanimously voted to remove a sunset provision from the post-traumatic stress disorder law it passed last February.
